Didymos Wrap - Ornament Anthracite
The first Ornament was released on 1 March 2013 and was woven in 100% cotton in a glorious shade of royal blue. This second run of Ornament has been woven in a tussah blend making it a lighter wrap. The Tussah Silk Blend is just divine!
This is a jacquard weave woven in anthracite and cream colored threads.
What is tussah silk and how is it different than regular silk?
Tussah is often called wild or uncultivated silk. As opposed to cultivated silk, tussah silk is gathered from wild or semi-wild silk worms. The silk filaments are collected from the worm's cocoon after the moth has hatched. There are many varieties and shades of wild silk. As the caterpillars eat a variety of vegetation, the silk can be anywhere from natural to beige to brownish toned. Tussah silks are wildcrafted and thus may be considered "organically raised." They are naturally tan, and generally are stronger and more resilient than cultivated "white" silks.
As mentioned earlier, tussah blends do run narrow. Even when laundered per Didy's directions, tussah does shrink.
Woven in Germany, Didymos wraps are of an exceptionally high quality. Designed and manufactured in Germany.
Each wrap is presented in the classic Didymos Blue Box and comes with DVD and complete instructions.
Available in different sizes, the longer lengths allow for the most versatility in carrying positions. Didymos wraps have a motif marking the centre of the wrap, making it easier to achieve different carrying positions.
