Who is Jessica, you ask????
She is a 27 year old, happily married wife, stay at home mum of two amazing boys, a Sunshine coast resident, a slightly obsessive compulsive neat freak, an almost all Organic eating, Cloth nappy using (99% of the time!), Blissfully breastfeeding, Time out using, slightly frazzled, but mostly sane on most days, kind of person!
Well that’s the basics, here are a few more! I love to eat, and luckily I also love cooking! I love, love, love babies, Little chubby gummy smiling babies!! And they grow up into funny toddlers and then even funnier “big boys”! I love a clean house, so it is very lucky that I also love cleaning, and that’s one of my OCD things! My poor husband is not sure where he should out his stuff at the end of each day, it seems I have a new “spot” for his stuff every day! And my 2 year old Hudson, well he knows where the Enjo window cleaner is, how to use it, and to put it in the laundry basket when he is finished…!
My Eco obsession began about the time I moved into my house with my Husband and I wasn’t a big fan of using chemicals to clean, so I found Enjo. Then I started to learn more and more about the effect food and other elements have on our health, so I found organic food, starting with meat and dairy, and then of course vegetables and fruit, and now basically if its not organic, I’m probably not interested! I said PROBABLY, you CAN twist my arm if it is something REALLY yummy! I actively seek out non-toxic, safe and nourishing choices in all areas for our house, linen, cleaning, food, nappies, clothing and toys…. Anything I can!
Long before this time, I was already a lover of little teeny cute babies, and couldn’t wait to become a mum. It was through my sister-in-law that I heard about a possible position at Eco child, so then my biggest loves in life were merged! Eco-friendliness and Babies!!! I became a very, VERY happy staff member at your wonderful very own Eco child!!!!
I worked with the team at Eco child until I was 34 weeks pregnant with my superstar Hudson, who is now 2 years and 5 months at the time of writing this, and let me tell you, if Eco child sells it, you’ve a good chance it is in his room!! I then did a little fill in work as needed between pregnancies, and now I also have a little darling boy nicknamed “the beast” or more respectively, Noah! He is almost 5 months, and my two boys are my joy. Keeping them safe and healthy is my mission in life. I believe God gave them to me to raise and shape into the men they will become, and I’ll do my best to encourage them to make choices that are wholesome and beneficial for themselves, and also those in the world around them, near and far.
I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of Eco child, and am so very thankful that Carly put her dream into action and created the best Ecofriendly baby and kids store in all of Australia!!! (No, I’m not biased, I think that’s the truth!) I believe that by choosing organic, we are not only benefiting ourselves, but those in other countries, where our things are grown and manufactured. I can shop soundly at Eco child, knowing that no other child is suffering with dirty, chemical polluted water, or struggling to survive due to unfair working conditions, just so my boys can play with awesome toys and wear nice clothes…
I am thrilled to be a guest blogger, and I hope you will have a little laugh, find my posts at least moderately interesting and relevant, and possibly even learn something! We can all stand to learn something new, as we strive to raise our children to be wholesome, happy and equipped to make healthy choices for them selves. I hope you will enjoy the Eco child Blog, as much as you enjoy the beautiful store!!
